Today we are to look at lines and curves in nature.  Here in Japan, outside of the forests, it seems like every tree in every park or yard or streetside is sculpted to maximize its shape or curve.  I find it quite fascinating.  Here are a couple of examples.  The first one I call The Dancing Tree.

And this one reminds of of something from Alice in Wonderland’s Tea Party with the Mad Hatter.

The different levels of the tree are reflected in the local architecture.

This one was a struggle to find today.  I took off on my bike to look for the image I had in mind with no luck – until…on my way home… I saw him.   A Snowy Egret with his bright yellow boots and all.

It’s a bit grainy because I had to zoom in so far with my little point and shoot camera.  If I’d gotten closer I know he would have flown away.

And I just had to share this “street” scene I took a few months ago on a tiny island near Bali.  No motorized vehicles here.

I’ve just started a Photo 101 class through WordPress Blogging University.  Assignment #1 is “Home.”  At the moment, home is Japan.
