April 26, 2003 Rest day in Seville
We’ve discovered that using the “Ride with GPS” on my phone works way better than following the garmin. So since my phone is securely mounted on my handlebars it’s not possible for me to take pictures along the way. Lots of long sustained very steep climbs in very hot weather.
We stayed two nights here in Seville at Hotel Ribera de Triana, right on the river. Seville is the capital of the Provence of Andalusia.

What a beautiful city.

We did a lot of exploring in Seville. One of the highlights of our exploring was the Plaza de Espana.

We happened to be there on one of their biggest holidays -Seville Feria or April Fair. The fair officially began at midnight on Saturday and runs for seven days. Everywhere you look you see men and women in their finest garb. Women wearing brightly colored flamenco dresses with matching bows in their hair and matching fans. Men are in very stylish suits (in in the extreme heat). There are horse drawn carriages everywhere to carrying people to and from the fair events. This was so much fun to see.

The whole city was filled with the excitement of this big event. Just wish I had more pictures of all the flamenco dresses.
Another treat was all the Jacaranda trees in full bloom as well as bougainvillea, and oleanders.

The end of two days exploring Seville.
