Well, we’re back together again. This time in Seattle with Justin and Lauren. And our new home – the Argonaut II.
Chris discovered an ad for this yacht when we were in town over Thanksgiving and had Justin check it out. One thing led to another and by January we were the proud owners of the Argonaut. Justin and Lauren have been living aboard since February with their pooch Huckleberry Finn.
This has been a dream of Chris’ forever and even though we bought it in January Chris has been in Japan all this time and never ever saw it in real life until this weekend! Pretty crazy, eh? So here’s the adventure to date. Fizzie Time on the Poop Deck. Is he happy or what?
The next day: Checking out the anchors.
Then off on our first cruise around Lake Union. Getting a lesson from the pro.
Some sights along the way. Seattle skyline.
Gasworks Park
A Cycle Saloon?
Chihuley Glass
Justin’s favorite house boat
Sleepless In Seattle house boat
Oh, and Huckleberry’s favorite cruising spot.
and back at the dock, hanging my father’s ship’s bell.
And you know what else is fun? Fixing dinner up on deck.
And relaxing after dinner.
Stay tuned for more family fun to come.

So happy to read of your happy times. Lots more fun to all of you. Hello and huge happy wishes from San Diego!

Wow, that is pretty amazing. The Argonaut II is moored at Stimson Marina in Ballard in case you’re ever in the area.

Thanks Larry. We’re working on a website for the boat. Meanwhile if you google Argonaut II you’ll find all kinds of interesting info. It has quite the history. I should write a blog just about the boat. gwen

Your blog is so wonderful – I enjoy it so much! And now look at this incredible boat you’ve got in Seattle!! You never cease to amaze! Did you know Johnny Douglas is having a lunch gathering here in Olympia this Friday at Ramblin’ Jacks – starts at 11:45 a.m. He’s in Seattle right now, as are you, but will be down here for just that one event. I’m in Oly now and on my way for a couple days in Seattle. Would love to see you if possible. Let me know. 206-445-3320. Sayward

Hi Sayward. It’s great to hear from you. Sorry I missed your call. I was in the midst of varnishing and had to keep going. We’re now in Canada on quite the adventure. To bad we missed the Johnny and the Oly event. gwen

The Argonaut ll is beautiful! Who’d have ever thought! Congratulations on your future home. I’ll have to go online to research her history. Hope Elizabeth was able to connect with you guys.
We’re spending the summer in Portland this year. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by. Have a great visit with Chris.

Hi Charlie, It’s great to hear from you. I’ve been wondering where you’re spending your summer since the IB trailer park is a pile of dirt right now. I did talk to Elizabeth last week but were not able to connect. Stay tuned to our exciting adventures ahead and say hi to Al for me. gwen
